William Bruce Thomas

March 27, 1939 ~ February 22, 2026

"Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved

beyond words and missed beyond measure."

Bruce entered his heavenly home on Sunday, February 22, 2026. In that sacred moment, he was ushered into the presence of his personal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, where he was welcomed by precious family members and friends who had preceded him in death.

His life, legacy, and love will forever be treasured by his devoted wife of 67 years, Robbie Jean; his children, Greg (Grey) Thomas, Ken (Arlene) Thomas, Chris (Kathy) Thomas, and Stacey (Will) Lovett; his grandchildren, Delana (Jared) Crandall, Rachel (Brian) Edwards, Katie (Alex) Morris, Kristin (Evan) Alexander, Abby Thomas, William (Kasey) Lovett, Beau Thomas, and Kathryn Thomas (fiancé Ethan Craddock); and his great-grandchildren, Luke & Kenslee Joy Crandall, Cole and Carter Edwards, Caroline, Bryce, and Hudson Alexander, and Knox and Finley Morris.

Bruce lived a life of unwavering commitment to his Lord and to those he loved most— his precious wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends, neighbors, and community. He was a faithful and active member of Martin Baptist Church for many years, serving as a deacon, singing in the choir, and faithfully participating in numerous other ministries.

Bruce was never idle. He was known as the hardest-working man by all who loved him. If something was broken, he would find a way to fix it. For a brief time, he was employed by Sherwin Williams in Atlanta before being afforded the opportunity to work with Matthews & Goodwin Furniture and Appliance. In time, he became a partner in Goodwin & Thomas, faithfully serving friends and neighbors in Stephens County and the surrounding areas.

For decades, he also faithfully served the town of Martin and was a member of the Lions Club. In 1977, he entered the poultry business, growing broilers for Fieldale Farms and later Columbia Farms. Family and farm life were his haven. Although his health hindered him in later years from tending the farm as he once did, he deeply cherished the time spent with his family.

His steady hands built much in this life, but his greatest work was the family he loved so deeply—and that legacy will endure for generations.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at two o'clock Friday, February 27, 2026 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Evan Alexander officiating.

The family will receive family and friends prior to the service from 12noon – 1:45pm, and again following the service.

A private burial will be held.

The following grandsons will serve as pallbearers:  William Lovett, Beau Thomas, Jared Crandall, Brian Edwards, Alex Morris and Ethan Craddock.  Honorary pallbearer will be Len Stovall.
