Thomas Leon Wood, Sr., age 86 of Lilburn, GA passed away February 29, 2020. Leon was preceded in death by his spouse of 50 years, Martha E. Wood. Leon is survived by his children, Linda Mauldin, Janet (and Terry) Britt, Kathryn (and Rob) Langston, Tommy (and Stephanie) Wood; grandchildren Matthew Miller, Adam (and Lori) Britt, Kristin (and Chris) Langley, Jonathan Langston, Andrew Langston, Stephen Langston, Tré Wood, Sofie Wood and Selma Wood; great grandchildren, Lainey Wright, Bree Wright, Harper Britt, Avery Britt, Emma Langley, Aria Langley, Lyla Langley, and Brooks Langston. He is also survived by his sister, Azalee McMurry; niece's, nephews and a host of other relatives.

Leon was a native of Toccoa, GA. He was born in Franklin County, GA but lived most of his life in the Metro-Atlanta area - including Tucker and Lilburn. Leon attended Piedmont College and Georgia State. After jobs with Westinghouse and Auto Ventshade, he went on to launch the second equipment rental store in the Atlanta area - Tucker Tool Rental. Over the years he was a member of the Lions Club and served faithfully for decades at both Bethany Baptist Church and White Oak Baptist. One of Leon's proudest achievements was the lake house he and Martha built at Lake Burton. Being at the lake with family and friends brought them great joy. His giving nature and nurturing spirit were felt by anyone who was blessed to know him.

Leon saw his bride in high school and declared, "I'm going to marry that girl." He did and now he and Martha have had a sweet reunion.

The Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel. Interment will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville, GA. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Wednesday, March 4, 2020 from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
