Mrs. Theodora Louise Hopper Almeida, age 100, of Toccoa passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026 at her home.

Born February 6, 1926 in Jacksonville, Florida, she was a daughter of the late Albert Sheffield and Denise Gouin Hopper.  She was a retired postal carrier with the U. S. Postal Service and was of the Episcopal faith.

Family members include a son and daughter-in-law, Richard L. Almeida, Jr. and Liz, of Warrensburg, MO; a daughter and son-in-law, Claudia Boyd and Shelton of Toccoa; four grandchildren, Christopher Galati, Rebekah Francis, David Boyd, and Haley Kemp; four great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; nieces and nephew, Martha Rogers, Betty Portis, and John Almeida (Christine).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Laurence Almeida; a daughter, Charlotte Almeida Galati; a brother, Arthur Hopper; a sister, Dena Hopper; and two grandchildren, Kyle Almeida and Aimee Boyd.

The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to Amedisys Hospice, especially Amy, who gave such love and care to Mrs. Almeida and to her family during their time of need.
