Mrs. Teresa Elaine Bowers Arrowood, age 62, of Toccoa, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2025 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Born September 1, 1963 she was the daughter of the Clayton Bowers and the late Doris Walker Bowers Payne.

Teresa attended Tates Creek Baptist Church and was a retired United States Air Force Critical Care Nurse.  She also served in the United States Army.  She was a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses', Sigma Theta Tau, Beta Ocromion Chapter, Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, GA.  In 1991, she received her License from the Georgia State Board of Nursing, Atlanta, GA.  Teresa was the recipient of the 1997 Meritorious Service Medal for service, Lyster Army Hospital, the 1997 Nurse of the Year, Lyster Army Hospital, and the Nurse of the Quarter, Lyster Army Hospital.  In 1996, Teresa received the Army Achievement Medal for service, Madigan Army Hospital.  She was nominated and inducted into Sigma Theat Tau, International Honor Society of Nursing in 1991 and she graduated with Honors, second in class, Medical College of Georgia School of Nursing. She was the recipient of the Grant Award, North Georgia Technical School in 1986.

Family members include her husband, Mark Arrowood; daughters and son-in-law, Tanda Evans and Tara O'Connor (Ian); sister, Rhonda Walker; brothers, Robert Bowers and Don Bowers; grandchildren, Sterling Evans, Lillian O'Connor, and Rose O'Connor; step-son, Quinton Chase Arrowood; and step-grandson, Easton Arrowood.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 12 noon until the service on Thursday, September 11, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at one o'clock Thursday, September 11, 2025 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Jerrell Beatty officiating.  Military Honors will be provided by the United States Air Force.

Cremation will follow the service.
