Dr. Stephen Pinkerton went to be with the Lord on 31 October 2024 in North Augusta, SC.  He was born in Birmingham, AL on 6 January 1956.  He graduated from Mississippi State University and the Mississippi School of Medicine.  He joined the Army and spent 10 years as an Army Surgeon after training at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.   He was stationed at many Army Posts all over the world and deployed with a MASH Unit for Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm.

After his military service the family moved to Toccoa, GA where he was in private practice for over 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Dr. Elizabeth Pinkerton; son, Stephen Pinkerton ll (Alicia); daughter, Dr. Catherine Kerr (Dr. Alex Kerr); brother, Mark Pinkerton (Helen); 3 grandchildren, Thomas Kerr, Sarah Kerr, and Evelyn Kerr; and 2 nephews, Dr. Mark Pinkerton and Austin Pinkerton.

The family will host a memorial service at two o`clock Sunday, 3 November 2024 at the Toccoa First Baptist Church with the Rev. Brett Sanders officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service on Sunday at the Toccoa First Baptist Church.
