Mr. Rhoderick Arribe Fernando, age 62, of Demorest, GA, passed away Monday, May 22, 2023 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.

Born October 14, 1960 in Manilla, Philippines, he was the son of Rebecca Arribe Alexander and the late Ricardo Fernando.

He was a Physical Therapist of 40 years, working at Stephens County Hospital Wilkinson Center for Aegis Therapies.  He attended the First Baptist Church of Atlanta and he loved Jesus.  His hobbies included watching movies, reading his Bible, and spending time with his family.  Rod lived the American Dream, a hardworking educated man from the Philippines who shared Jesus and prayed for all of his patients, co-workers, and family.  His favorite Bible verse: Joshua 1:9, This is my commandment, be strong and courageous.  Do not be afraid or discouraged; for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.

Family members include his wife, Joy Carter Fernando, daughters and a son-in-law, Hannah and Joshua Goodbar and Hillarie Fernando; grandchildren, Annabelle Goodbar and Jonah Goodbar.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 6pm – 8pm Friday, May 26, 2023.

Rod's wishes were to be cremated and no services are planned.

In lieu of flowers, love offerings may be given to Joy Fernando or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
