Mrs. Nancy Gamble Barbour, age 73, of Toccoa, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Pruitt Health-Toccoa.

Born on June 17, 1952, in LaGrange, Georgia, Nancy was the beloved daughter of the late Harold and Eva Margaret Gamble. She pursued a career in dental hygiene, graduating from the Medical University of South Carolina as a Registered Dental Hygienist. Her dedication to the field led her to work in various dental practices throughout the Carolinas and to share her expertise as an instructor at Spartanburg Technical College during the 1980's.

In 1990, Nancy relocated with her family to Toccoa, where she lovingly devoted herself to raising her children. She later returned to her profession, serving patients in several local dental offices. Her compassion and commitment to helping others extended beyond dentistry, as she also worked at the Toccoa Mental Health clinic before joining the Stephens County School System. She retired in 2014 to embrace her cherished role as a grandmother.

A devoted member of St. Mary Catholic Church for 35 years, Nancy gave generously of her time as a Sunday school teacher, youth group leader, and member of the Ladies Guild. Her faith, warmth, and service touched many lives in her community.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Lawrence Charles "Larry" Barbour. She is survived by her children: Chuck and Rachelle Barbour of Bethlehem, Georgia; Lange and Jordan Flowers of Rome, Georgia; Marlee and Ryan Fleming of Cornelia, Georgia. She was a proud grandmother to Maizee Fleming, Ellie Barbour, Declan Fleming, Ava Barbour, and Charlotte Barbour. She is also survived by her sisters; Sandra Gaines (Walter) and Brenda McKevlin (Tom); brothers-in-law; Rick Barbour (Patty) and Bill Barbour; sister-in-law, Laura Godfrey and several nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Mass celebrating Nancy's life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, August 23, 2025 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Toccoa.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the mass.  After the mass, a reception will be held in the church parish hall.
