Mr. Murel Travis Jordan, age 79, of Dewy Rose, GA, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025 at his home.

Born August 23, 1945 in Demorest, GA, he was the son of the late Decosta and Reba Franklin Jordan.

Mr. Jordan and his brother owned and operated Jordan Brothers Logging.  He was also a cattle farmer, and was of the Baptist faith.  He enjoyed NASCAR, being a huge Bill Elliott fan.  He also loved Georgia Bulldog football.

Family members include his daughter, Missy Sarbon  (Scott) of Demorest, GA; son, Clint Jordan (Michaela) of Dewy Rose, GA; daughter, Kayla Jordan; grandchildren, Nicholas Sarbon, Andrew Sarbon, Jace Jordan, Reece Jordan and Brantley Jordan; sister, Betty Jean Bennett; brothers, Troy Jordan, Ray Jordan, and Randall Jordan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roy Lee Jordan.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 6pm – 8pm Thursday, January 23, 2025, and from 12pm until the service hour on Friday, January 24, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at one o'clock Friday, January 24, 2025 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Ken Jackson, the Rev. Harris Pressley, and Mr. Adam Thornton officiating.

A private burial will take place at Stephens Memorial Gardens.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers:  Jeff Murphy, Brian Jordan, Tony Bennett, Steve Addison, Clint Jordan and Travis Jordan.
