Mrs. Mary Etta Whitfield Ayers Roberson, age 95, of Toccoa, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2025 at New Horizons in Demorest, GA.
Born October 17, 1930 in Anderson, SC, she was the daughter of the late William Edgar and Blanche Whitlow Whitfield.
Mrs. Roberson retired from Coats & Clark with 47 years of service, and then went on to work at Toccoa Falls College and later Big A Elementary School. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Toccoa.
Family members include her daughter, Nancy Ayers Addison, of Richmond Hill, GA; grandchildren, Drew Addison (Shanna) of Madison, GA, Trip Addison (Ashley) of Richmond Hill, GA, and Lindsay Addison French (Aaron) of Cumming, GA; great-grandchildren, Caroline Addison, Drake Addison, Elizabeth Addison, George Addison, Caleb French and Morgan French; sisters, Willie Jo Meeks, Patsy Hicks (Nick) and Faye Herron; brother, Tommy Whitfield (Syble); and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Dennis Marvin Ayers and Ed Roberson; brothers, Herbert Whitfield, Hubert Whitfield, Homer Whitfield, Jack Whitfield, Almon Whitfield and Bobby Whitfield; and sister, Mildred Whitfield Garrett Sosby.
The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 12 noon until the service time Saturday, December 6, 2025.
Funeral services will be held at one-thirty Saturday, December 6, 2025 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Brett Sanders officiating.
Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Tim Hicks, Hal Herron, Chuck Whitfield, Brad Whitfield, Wes Whitfield and Baylor Whitfield.
Flowers are welcomed, or memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church of Toccoa, 475 E. Tugalo Street, Toccoa, GA 30577.
The family wishes to thank the staff at The Clary Care Center, New Horizons, and Amedisys Hospice Care for the loving care they gave to Mrs. Roberson.
