Mrs. Martha Ruth Ramey Dove, age 69, of Toccoa, GA passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at her home.

Born September 4, 1952 in Royston, GA, she was the daughter of Benny Frank Ramey and the late Lou Ellen Leopard Ramey.

She was a member of Tate's Creek Baptist Church and was retired from Franklin County School System. Martha taught school for 36 years, 6 years with a Christian School and 30 years with Franklin County School System. She was chosen Teacher of the Year twice. Martha enjoyed camping and spending time with her family. She was a longtime member of Woodmen of the World.

Family members include her husband of 37 years, Bobby Joe Dove; step-daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Tony Goza of Toccoa; her father, Benny Ramey of Toccoa; sisters and a brother-in-law, Joan Ramey of Toccoa and Cindy and Barry Stephens of Jefferson; grandson, Taylor Goza of Acworth, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 6pm – 8pm Thursday, August 18, 2022.

Funeral services will be held at three o'clock Friday, August 19, 2022 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Jerrell Beatty and the Rev. W. Bobby Jones officiating.

Burial will follow at Franklin Memorial Gardens.

Joe Dan Strickland, Curtis Waters, Michael Cleveland, John Wilkinson, Mark Wilkinson, Randy Callahan, and Eddie Powers will serve as pallbearers. Mary Cobb, Jonie Fulbright, Melanie Burton Brown, Gary Rose, Pam Strickland, and Avis Barrett will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Flowers are optional. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the Tate's Creek Baptist Church Building Fund.
