Ms. Marion Elizabeth Ariail Wood, age 82, of Toccoa, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Braselton, GA.

Born June 12, 1943 in Toccoa, GA, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Marion Payne Ariail.

Ms. Wood was a Caseworker for the Georgia Department of Aging, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Toccoa.  She was the founding member of Stacey Chandler Memorial Kindergarten in Commerce, GA.

Family members include her children, Cyndi Etheridge (Tye) of Waycross, GA, David Wood of Toccoa, Jennifer Guglia (Dave) of Stoughton, MA, and Wes Wood (Sarah) of Dacula, GA; bonus daughter, Carol Bates (Bob) of Hampton, VA; grandchildren, Ariail Carnahan (Corey), Tom Etheridge, Ruby Guglia, Joey Guglia, Asher Wood, Ella Paige Guglia, Nolan Wood and Caleb Wood; great-grandchildren, Brian Carnahan and Clara Tye Carnahan; brother, Fred Ariail (Barbara); and sister, Dr. Mary Ariail.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Dr. Dan Ariail, and her sister, Lyn Bishop.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 10am until the service hour Thursday, October 23, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock Thursday, October 23, 2025 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Brett Sanders and the Rev. David Ritcey officiating.

Friends and family will re-assemble at Sunrise Cemetery in Maysville, GA, at 1pm for burial.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers:  David Wood, Wes Wood, Tye Etheridge, Tom Etheridge, Dave Guglia and Joey Guglia.
