Mrs. Marilene Joyce Goss Moon, age 89, of Toccoa, wife of Rev. Kenneth Moon, passed away Thursday, January 30, 2025 at her home.

Born September 10, 1935 in Kerrville, TX, she was the daughter of the late Robert Emile and Lillie Ann Maxell Goss.

Mrs. Moon was a dedicated and beloved pastor's wife.  She and her husband ministered eight southern Baptist churches in Georgia and South Carolina over the years of 1961 – 2003.  In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, she worked at a Christian bookstore and at Tuckaseigee Mills in Toccoa for 18 years.  Mrs. Moon was a consummate southern cook whose greatest joy was cooking meals for her family.

Family members include her husband of 71 years, Gerald Kenneth Moon, Sr.; daughters, Kendra Moon, of Decatur, GA, and Robin Moon Williams (Johnnie) of Eastanollee; sons, Carey Moon, Sr. (Tammy), of Toccoa, and Kenny Moon (Connie) of Clarkesville, GA; grandchildren, Carey Moon, Jr., Courtney Moon Smith (Brad), Samantha Moon, Austin Marston, Martin Moon, Shemekia Trimiar and Shannon Turpin (Drew); great-granddaughter, Kaydence Smith; and great-great-granddaughters, Nora Turpin and Lily Turpin.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 12noon – 2pm on Saturday, February 1, 2025.

Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Saturday, February 1, 2025 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Andy Childs and Mr. Brad Whitfield officiating.

A private entombment will be at Roselane Mausoleum.

Kenny Moon, Martin Moon, Austin Marston, Johnnie Williams, Samantha Moon, Carey Moon, Jr, Brad Smith, and Tim Goss will serve as pallbearers.
