Mrs. Linda Joyce Elrod Melton, age 76, of Martin, GA, passed away Sunday, May 9, 2021 at her home.

Born July 7, 1944, in Toccoa, GA, she was the daughter of the late Ollie Chaffin and Blonde Briley Elrod.

Mrs. Melton was an accomplished pianist and accompanist for local soloist and vocal groups.  She was a member of Martin Baptist Church where she served as the pianist for many years and was a retired medical technologist for Longstreet Clinic in Gainesville.

Family members include her husband, Loyd Melton; daughter and son-in-law, Deana Melton Mitchell and Matt; son and daughter-in-law, Ryan Melton and Melissa; granddaughter, Lainey Mitchell; grandson, Garrison Mitchell; and sisters, Elaine Elrod Broussard and Pamela Elrod Woodson

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 12 noon until 1:45pm Saturday, May 15, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Saturday, May 15, 2021 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Andy Stovall officiating.

Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Claude Childs, Wes Whitfield, Len Stovall, Keith Carter, Kelly Briley, and Alan Mitchell.

Due to the conditions concerning the health and well-being of our community, social distancing will be observed.  Those attending the service are encouraged to wear a mask.
