Mrs. LaVerne Cash Cheek, age 98, of Martin, GA, passed away Friday, April 28, 2023 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Lavonia, GA.

Born March 6, 1925 in Carnesville, GA, she was the daughter of the late Elisha Howard and Vera Martin Cash.  LaVerne was a member of Collins Road Baptist Church, a Franklin County High School Graduate, and was a homemaker.

Family members include her son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Betty Cheek of Martin, GA; grandchildren, Harvey Cheek and fiance` Tatiana of Roswell, GA, Ellie McMillen and Clint of Atlanta, GA, and Clayton Cheek of Atlanta; sister, Mary Cash Andrews of Atlanta, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill S. Cheek in 2006; and 10 brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 10 am until 11:45 am Monday,
May 1, 2023.

Graveside services will be held at 12 noon at Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Roger Elrod officiating.

Burial will follow.

Harvey Cheek, Clayton Cheek, Tyler Owenby, and Kelvin Barnes will serve as pallbearers.
