Laura Michelle Grant, age 36, tragically passed away on February 14, 2021 at her home in Nicholson Georgia.

She was born on July 27, 1984, at Shallowford Hospital in Atlanta, GA to Janet Louise Yergin Grant and Nelson Herbert Grant, Jr.

Laura graduated from Norcross High School in 2002.  She continued her education at Gwinnett Technical College, obtaining her cosmetology certification in 2004.  In 2018, she decided to change professions and was actively enrolled at Piedmont College where she was pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing to become a certified nurse.  Laura was working as an assistant teacher at The Preschool Academy while attending college.  Her interests included reading, music, the beach, and crafting, but her primary focus was always her daughter.  Laura was a loving mother willing to do anything to make Miranda happy. Her love for the beach, animals, and laugher were passed along to her daughter at an early age.  Her love for Christ, family, and friends consumed every moment of her life.

Laura is survived by her daughter, Miranda Marie Pinson, age 6; mother and stepfather, Janet and Charles Murray; father and stepmother, Nelson and Katherine Grant; one sister; one  half-brother; three half-sisters; two stepbrothers; many nieces and nephews; and one step-grandmother.  There are also maternal and paternal aunts and uncles, along with numerous cousins, on both sides. She was preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents, Glenn Albert and Wanda Lucille Robey Yergin of Toccoa, GA and Nelson Herbert and Yasuko (Sue) Grant of Fayetteville, NC.

A candlelight vigil was held in-person and recorded on February 19, 2021 at New Hope at Nicholson Baptist Church, in Laura's honor, where she was a beloved member.

A memorial service will be held for family and friends at a future date.
