Mrs. Joyce "Jois" Lawson Demore, age 74, of Turnerville, GA, passed away Monday, April 8, 2024 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born April 13, 1949 in Martin, GA, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd Wilburn Lawson and Sara Jewell DeFoor Lawson.

She was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church and was retired from Habersham County Board of Education.

Family members include her husband, Eddie Joe Demore; brother, Leroy Lawson of Turnerville; sister-in-law, Jenny Lawson; granddaughter, Caraigh Payne of Toccoa; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Jerry Lawson and Howard Lawson; and by her grandson, Conner Payne.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 12 noon until the funeral hour on Saturday, April 13, 2024.

Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Saturday, April 13, 2024 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Raymond Payne and the Rev. Larry Ryals officiating.

Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens.

Marty Demore, Casey Demore, Michael Demore, Chris Lawson, Chad Lawson, and Casey Lee Lawson will serve as pallbearers.
