Johnnie Sue Maxwell Wood, age 86, of Norcross, GA, passed away Thursday, October 14, 2021 at Northside Hospital in Lawrenceville.

Born September 24, 1935 in Toccoa, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Lucy Franklin Maxwell.

She was of the Baptist Faith and was retired from Gwinnett County School System having taught school for 41 years.  Sue was a kind and generous person and she loved her family.

Family members include her daughters and son-in-law, Angela and George Musick of Lawrenceville and Andrea McMillan of Flowery Branch; son, Kenneth Wood of Norcross; grandchildren, Alexander Musick and Benjamin Musick; brother, Roy F. Maxwell; sisters, Kitty Hoff, Anne Sowers, Mary Land, and Carolyn Spofford; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace O. Wood; brothers, W.A. Maxwell, Howard Maxwell and Ralph Maxwell; sisters, Nell Akin and Irene Murphy

Graveside services will be held at three o'clock Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Roselane Cemetery.
