Mr. Joe Dan Burgess, age 83, of Carnesville, GA, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2021 at his home.

Born March 20, 1937 in Stephens County, GA, he was the son of the late Jones Jackson Burgess and the late Jessie Lee Adams Burgess.

He was of the Baptist Faith and was a United States Air Force Veteran.  Mr. Burgess retired from Delta Airlines with over 35 years of service.

Family members include his daughter and son-in-law, Beth B. and Mark Bellamy of Carnesville; son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Kris Burgess of Locust Grove; grandchildren, Eric Burgess, Jarrett Burgess, Kyle and Jessica Bellamy, and Brett and Emily Bellamy; great-grandchildren, Max Bellamy, Elsie Bellamy, Milo Bellamy, Owen Bellamy; and Lucy Bellamy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marvin and Lydia Burgess and Ken and Sarah Burgess; and sister, Joyce Moore.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn Herron Burgess; and a brother, Charles Burgess.

The family will have a private cryptside service at Roselane Mausoleum.
