Mrs. JoAnn DeFoor Whitworth, age 84, of Toccoa, GA, passed away Monday, May 2, 2022 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center.

Born November 19, 1937 in North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Jewell Elrod DeFoor.

She was a member of Carnes Creek Baptist Church and was self-employed and retired from Whitworth Tax Services.

Family members include her husband, Joe Whitworth; her son, Stacy Whitworth of Toccoa; sister, Lavonne McConnell; brothers, George DeFoor and Doug DeFoor; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Barbara Royals, Judy DeFoor, and Peggy Whitlock; and her brother, Harry DeFoor.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 1pm until 2:45pm Wednesday, May 4, 2022.

Graveside services will be held at three o'clock Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Roselane Cemetery with the Rev. Jerrell Beatty and Rev. Greg Nix officiating.

Burial will follow.

Pallbearers will be Terry Whitworth, Keith Whitworth, Zach Whitworth, Rob DeFoor, Jody DeFoor, and Brian DeFoor.

Flowers are optional. Those desiring may make memorial donations to Carnes Creek Baptist Church.
