Mr. James William "Bill" Spencer, age 87, of Toccoa, passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at his home.

Born March 1, 1934 in South Carolina, he was the son of the late William Trinum "W. T." Spencer and Beulah Meeks Spencer.

He was a member of Old Liberty Baptist Church and was retired from Coats and Clark.  Bill was a United States Army Veteran.

Family members include his daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Jeff Leverette of Toccoa; son and daughter-in-law, Barry and Cindy Spencer of Toccoa; grandchildren, Jamie and John McIntyre, Caitlin and Zach McKenzie, Tiffany and Coleman Payne, and Daniel and Lauren Leverette; 12 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Daniel and Cathy Keener; sister-in-law, Brenda Ivester; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Keener Spencer; and his brother, Charles Spencer.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 6pm – 8pm Wednesday, September 29, 2021.

Graveside services will be held at two o'clock Thursday, September 30, 2021 at Old Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.

Burial will follow.

Zach McKenzie, John McIntyre, Daniel Leverette, Coleman Payne, Gavin Wilt, and Trenum Wilt will serve as pallbearers.

Flowers are optional.  Those desiring may make memorial donations to Old Liberty Baptist Church.

Due to community health concerns, we encourage those attending the service to wear a mask and to continue to practice social distancing.
