Mr. Irving Eugene "Gene" Hulsey, age 70, of Toccoa passed away Sunday, August 31, 2025 at North Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA.

Born May 25,1955 in Toccoa, GA, he was the son of the late Arthur and Emma Frances Sewell Hulsey.

Mr. Hulsey lived his whole life in Stephens County.  He was a retired printing press operator at Coats & Clark, and he drove a school bus for 12 years for the Stephens County School System.  He was a dedicated member of Grace Baptist Church, where he was a deacon and a member of his Sunday School class.  He loved to fish, and was a former member of a Bass club.  He also loved going to concerts and wrestling events with his stepson, Brent.

Family members include his fiancé, Linda Wood, of Eastanollee; sister, Barbara Jameson (Roger); special friend and stepson, Brent Wood; one niece, Angela Daniel; and one nephew, Kenneth Jameson.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 10am – 2pm Thursday, September 4, 2025.

Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary at two o'clock Thursday, September 4, 2025 with Pastor Mike Petty and Pastor Byron Kennedy officiating.

Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens with Pastor Tony Andrews officiating.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers:  Andrew Jameson, Cody Jameson, Colby Anderson, Brent Wood, Kevin Daniel and Keith Daniel.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Erwin Carter for his help and care that he gave to Gene.
