Mr. Hugh James "Jim" Rhoades, age 93, of Toccoa, passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at his home.

Born May 28, 1929 in Grand Ledge, Michigan, he was the son of the late Benjaman Anthony and Ellen May Markle Rhoades.

He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and was a United States Marine serving during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. Jim was retired from the Federal Aviation Authority.

Family include his wife, Ruth Green Rhoades; sister, Barbara Hughes of Toccoa; sons and daughters-in-law, Bernie L. and Laurie Rhoades of TN, Don and Greta Rhoades of TN, and Leonard and Tammy Soncrant of MA; daughter and son-in-law, Raye Lynn and Bill Oldham of NC; daughter-in-law, Glenda Rhoades of MS; devoted niece and nephew, Sandra and Barry Maher and Michael Hughes; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and many other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, Chuck Rhoades; and his siblings, Alice, Dorothy, Harold, and Frank.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 10 am until the service on Saturday, August 13, 2022.

Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock Saturday, August 13, 2022 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with Mr. David Parris officiating.

Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens with Military Honors provided by the United States Marines and VFW Post 4346.
