Mr. Hershel Ansel Hill, age 81, of Toccoa, passed away Saturday, October 15, 2022, at Pruitt Health of Toccoa.

Born March 25, 1941 in Florida, he was a son of the late John Cecil Hill and Oakes McCall Hill.  He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and was retired from Coats and Clark.

Family members include his wife of 61 years, Martha Hulsey Hill of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Darlene and Gary Cobb of Carnesville; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Greg Cecil Hill of Toccoa, and Alex and Robin Hill of Cornelia; his grandchildren, Korey Holland, Weston Hill, Jake and Morgan Cobb, Katelyn Hill, Skylar Wilmont, Lauren Cobb, and Lana and Shannon Seymour; his great-grandchildren, Nate Holland, Alexis Holland, Anna Cobb, J.D. Cobb, Karis Seymour, and Carson Seymour; and his former daughter-in-law, Cindy Hill.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mattie Ruth Lacotta and Ima Jean Brand; two brothers, Kye Hill and J.C. Hill, Jr.; and his foster parents, Clarence and Bessie McCall.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 2-4pm and 6-8pm Monday, October 17, 2022.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 18, 2022, from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Brian Stephens and the Rev. Roger Elrod officiating.

Burial will follow in Martin Baptist Church Cemetery.

Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Jimmy LeCroy, Brown Dean, David A. Mitchell, Sidney Motes, Earl Rochester, and Barry Moon.
