Herman Jones
Hayes
Nov 22, 1953 — Jan 22, 2022
Toccoa
Mr. Herman Jones Hayes, age 68, of Toccoa, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2022 at his home.
Born November 22, 1953 in Toccoa, he was the son of the late Charles Hayes and Margaret Ramsey Whitfield.
Herman Jones Hayes was born on November 22, 1953 in Toccoa, Georgia. He was the son of the late Charles Hayes and Margaret Ramsey Whitfield. He was cherished by his siblings that preceded him in death, Sallie E. Taylor and Martha Joe Gray (George). His lovely surviving siblings are Laura Royal, Robert Lipkin (aka June), Charlene Echols (Nate), Darlene Rivers (Junior), Christina Brown, and Trenace Richie (Roy).
He was joined in marriage to his lovely wife Sheena Hayes on November 20, 1992 in Atlanta, Georgia for 29 years. He leaves behind his beautiful children: Quintina Stowers of Seneca, SC, Deidra Hayes of Athens, Calandra Williams of Charlotte, NC, Akira Williams of Atlanta, Kristie Bolemen of Sandy Springs, Felicia Lester of Dallas, and Dorian Lester of Toccoa; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren (especially his buddy, Nehemiah); and a host of nieces and nephews.
Herman had a pleasant personality filled with love and joy. He was always happy and having a cheerful, positive deposition making you laugh and feel right at home. He was a strong man in which he was a veteran of the United States Army. Herman was very hardworking in which he drove tractor trailer trucks for more than 30 years, working for Armstrong United Relocation Van Lines and retired from Atlas Van Lines.
He was always a people person and could have a conversation no matter who you were. Because of this, he imagined a world in which everyone will love one another. He longed for a better world in which mankind will be in perfect condition. Despite his health, he kept his hope before him and shared his hope with others. This motivated him to dedicate himself by water baptism as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on January 27, 2013. His strong faith in Jehovah built his conviction in a paradise to come. Herman's favorite scripture to share with others was Isaiah 33:24 which says, "And no resident will say: "I am sick".
Herman fell asleep in death on January 22, 2022 with the assured guarantee of a promised new world.
