Helen Hope Chitwood Sewell, age 94, of Lavonia, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021 at her home.  Mrs. Sewell was a former resident of The Clary Center in Toccoa for five years.

Born April 26, 1927 in Lavonia, GA, she was the daughter of Otis C. and Lettie Mae Smith Chitwood.  Mrs. Sewell was a homemaker and a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Toccoa.  She was preceded in death by her husband Hubert Boyd Sewell, Sr., and a brother, Winton D. Chitwood.

Family members include a daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Tim Hudson, of Athens; son and daughter-in-law, Boyd and Lisa Sewell, of Lavonia; four granddaughters and their spouses, Melissa Hudson Berry and David, Jennifer Hudson Rubio and Eric, Heidi Sewell Mills and Kyle, and Angela Sewell Neal and Kyle; eleven great grandsons, one great granddaughter, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Graveside services and burial will be held at Ten o'clock Saturday, October 9, 2021 at Fairview Methodist Church Cemetery, S Fairview Rd. & Grady School Rd., Lavonia, with Mr. Rusty Denton and Pastor Mike Petty officiating.

Visitation will follow the graveside and will be held at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Toccoa.

The following will serve as pallbearers; Kyle Mills, Kyle Neal, Rusty Denton and Wayne Chitwood.
