Mrs. Helen Kelley Elrod, age 92, of Carnesville, passed away Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the Veranda in Carnesville.
Mrs. Elrod was born March 24, 1929 in Canon, GA, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Nellie Walters Kelley. She retired from Coats and Clark after 45 years of service. Helen was a lifelong member of Double Branches Baptist Church where she helped with Bible School for several years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Elrod; brothers, Andrew Kelley and Bill Kelley; and sisters, Beatrice Cheek and Frances Cheek; and step-son, Lance Elrod.
Survivors her daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Sam Mauldin of Toccoa; grandchildren, Dene and Tim Hicks and Rob and Monica Mauldin all of Toccoa; great-grandchildren, Andy and Sarah Hicks, Matthew Hicks, and Hampton Mauldin all of Toccoa; one great-great-grandchild; brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Fay Kelley of Carnesville; step-daughter, Lynne Elrod; and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Double Branches Baptist Church from 3:30 pm – 4:30 pm on Sunday, February 6, 2022.
Funeral services will be held at four-thirty Sunday, February 6, 2022 at Double Branches Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerrell Beatty and the Rev. David Sosebee officiating.
Burial will follow at Oak View Cemetery in Canon, GA.
Andy Hicks, Matthew Hicks, Hampton Mauldin, Cecil King, Russell Stafford and Brook Beasley will serve as pallbearers.
Flowers are optional. Those desiring may make memorial donations to Double Branches Baptist Church Building Fund or to New Hope Baptist Church Building Fund.
