Mr. Guy Anderson Purcell, age 93, of Toccoa, passed away Friday, July 9, 2021 at Pruitt Health of Toccoa.

Born May 31, 1928, in Stephens County, he was the son of the late Dorse F. and Mollie Harrison Purcell.

He was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church, a graduate of Piedmont College in 1958 and was retired from Coats and Clark.  Mr. Purcell also was a Veteran of the United States Army.

Family members include his wife, Betty Hayworth Purcell of the home; daughter, Gail Gipson of Toccoa; sister, Dorsey Lee Purcell Davis of Eastanollee; niece and her husband Lynn and Bill Blalock; two nephews, Roger Whitmire and Jimmy Whitmire and his wife Kari; and several great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Edna Purcell Whitmire.

Graveside services will be held at three o'clock Sunday, July 11, 2021at Stephens Memorial Gardens, with the Reverend Scott Alexander officiating.

Burial will follow.
