Gerald Wade Smith

Westminster- Gerald Wade Smith, 72, passed away Saturday, January 23rd, 2021, at Prisma Oconee Medical Center.

Born in Stephens County, Georgia, to the late Herbert Sullivan and Lucy Meeks Smith, Gerald was a graduate of Clemson University and Law School at the University of South Carolina. Gerald was an attorney with the Public Defender's office, and was a Captain in the United States Army, a member of the American Legion, the South Carolina Bar Association, and Old Liberty Baptist Church where he served as a former Sunday school teacher. Gerald was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Smith.

A private funeral service will be held for his family and close friends 2:00 pm, Tuesday, January 26th, 2021 at Old Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery, with the Rev. Mark Nelson officiating.
