Mr. Edwin Charles "Ed" Hinrichs, Jr., age 79, of Toccoa, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2022 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Born March 21, 1943, in New York, he was the son of the late Edwin Charles Hinrichs, Sr. and Irene Umbreit Hinrichs.

He was of the Baptist Faith and was retired from Stephens County EMS.

Family members include his wife, Cheryl Wood Hinrichs; sons, Michael Hinrichs of Kansas and Chuck Hinrichs of NC; grandchildren, Kelsey and JD Sweat, Maki Hinrichs, Taylor Hinrichs, and Stephanie Hinrichs; great-grandchildren, Kaxton Sweat and Kamryn Sweat; sister and brother-in-law, Louis and Ken Holt; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 6pm – 8pm Tuesday, August 16, 2022.

Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Jerrell Beatty officiating.

Burial will follow at Roselane Cemetery.

Stephens County EMS will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers the family respectfully asks for donations to help with expenses.
