Rev. Edwin Michael "Mike" Blount, age 66, of Toccoa passed away Sunday, May 12, 2024 at his home.

Born May 21, 1957 in Athens, GA, he was the son of the late James Frederick and Myra Jane Vaughn Blount.

Rev. Blount was an Association Mission Strategist with Tugalo Baptist Association, and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.  He was passionate about reaching the next generation for Jesus Christ, and spending time with family.

Family members include his wife, Cathy O'Kelley Blount of Toccoa; daughters, Anna Blount of Monroe, GA and Rebekah Blocker (Danny) of Monroe, GA; son, Michael Blount (Roderick) of Athens, GA; grandchildren, Olivia Blocker and Noah Blocker; sister, Kathie Nuss; brothers, Terry Blount (Elaine) and Kevin Blount; and several nieces.

The family will receive friends at Ebenezer Baptist Church from 9:30am until the service time on Saturday, May 18, 2024.

Memorial services will be held at eleven o'clock Saturday, May 18, 2024 at Ebenezer Baptist Church with the Rev. Harris Pressley, the Rev. Ken Jackson and the Rev. Chris Conner officiating.

A private family inurnment will follow at Roselane Cemetery.
