Mr. Edward C. Brawner, 88, of Royston, GA passed away on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at his home.

Mr. Brawner was born in Carnesville, GA on February 3, 1936, son of the late Jewell Brawner and the late Oles Carey Brawner. He was a forklift operator having retired form BASF of Anderson, a cattle farmer and member of the Royston Church of God.

He was a devoted husband, father, and Papa. He enjoyed spending time outside and spending time with his grandchildren and great granddaughters. Some of his favorite vacations involved going to the mountains with his wife of 61 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steve Brawner; brothers, Marshall Brawner and Lindy Brawner; and sister, Carolyn Pilgrim.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Simmons Brawner; son and daughter-in-law, Vernon and Marla Brawner of Franklin Springs, GA; grandchildren, Erica Chumley (Matthew), Elise Gibson, Randall Brawner and Nicholas Brawner (Julie Nichols); great grandchildren, McKenna Gibson, Madilyn Chumley, Meridith Chumley and Maci Chumley; sisters-in-law, Geneva Brawner of Bogart, GA and Doris Brawner of Royston, GA; and brother-in-law, Leland Simmons of Toccoa, GA.

Funeral services for Mr. Brawner will be held in the Royston Church of God at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 22, 2024, with Rev. Eddie Wiggins and Rev. James Gunn officiating. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Royston.

The family will receive friends at Pruitt Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday evening. During other times the family will be at the home.
