Mrs. Dora Lee Wells Ayers, age 93, of Toccoa, passed away Monday, June 21, 2021 at Pruitt Health of Toccoa.

Born September 23, 1927 in Franklin County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Joe and Mattie Dora Howe Wells.

She was a homemaker and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Family members include her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Herman Anderson; sons and daughters-in-law, Teddy and Caren Ayers and Tommy and Debbie Ayers; grandchildren, Allen Anderson, Chad Anderson, Ashley Jahnke, Elizabeth Ebers and Craig, Jason Ayers and Donna, Joe Ayers and Shelley, Wesley Ayers and Saprina, and Michael Ayers; numerous great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Herschel Clifton Ayers; and her son, William Herschel Ayers; sisters, Omie Hickman, Willie Mae Bennett, Robbie Roach, Minnie Moore, and Merle Bridges; brothers, Dewitt Wells and Thomas Wells.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 9am until 10:45 am Wednesday, June 23, 2021.

Funeral services will be held at eleven o'clock Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. David Sosebee officiating.

Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers; Michael Ayers, Allen Anderson, Jason Ayers, Joe Ayers, Bryan Ayers, and Craig Ebers.
