Mrs. Colleen McCluskey Shurley, age 89, of Toccoa, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2020 at Stephens County Hospital.

Born December 24, 1930 in LaGrange, GA, she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Lois Prescott McCluskey.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Family members include her daughter, Anne Shurley of Toccoa; and her son, James Michael Shurley of Toccoa.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, James Elijah "Jim" Shurley, Jr.

Colleen had a love for gardening which was evident in her beautiful azaleas and flowers.  She loved her family and friends, always caring about them.  She leaves behind a legacy of southern charm, sweetness and love for her Savior.

Funeral services will be held at three o'clock Sunday, July 19, 2020 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. David Ritcey officiating.

Burial will follow at Roselane Cemetery.

The Chapel Sunday School will serve as honorary pallbearers and will meet at the mortuary at 2:30 Sunday.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 2 pm until the service on Sunday.

Flowers are optional.  Those desiring may make memorial donations to the Chapel Sunday School Class.

Due to the conditions concerning the health and well-being of our community, social distancing will be observed.
