Mrs. Christine Merle Brown Sutton, age 91, of Eastanollee, passed away Monday, July 13, 2026 at Pruitt Health – Toccoa.

Born May 26, 1935 in Homer, GA, she was the daughter of the late Lester Clelon and Merle Broome Brown.

Mrs. Sutton was a painter at Toccoa Casket Company, and worked at the VFW for 45 years.  She was a member of Liberty Hill Baptist Church.

Family members include her daughters, Rhonda Okerberg (Warren) of Owens Cross Road,  AL, and Kathy Yearwood of Commerce, GA; son, Kenneth Yearwood of Toccoa; grandchildren, Carl Okerberg (Caitlyn), Phillip Okerberg, Christopher Yearwood (Marrianne) and Matthew Yearwood; brother, Clelon Brown; sisters, Linda Bell, Barbara Brown (David) and Lois Adams; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Angie Yearwood; sister, Perlene Jones; brothers, Ernest Brown, Lewis Brown and Vernon Brown; and brother-in-law, James Bell.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 1:30pm – 2:45 pm Wednesday, July 15, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at three o'clock Wednesday, July 15, 2026 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with Pastor Mike Petty officiating.

Burial will follow at Roselane Cemetery.
