Mrs. Mary Catherine Carpenter Turpin, age 73, of Toccoa passed away Monday, September 8, 2025 at her home.

Born December 31, 1951 in Toccoa, she was the daughter of the late Frank Arlington and Mary Phillips Carpenter.

Mrs. Turpin retired from Fieldale Farms.  She was a life-long member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, and a member of Becky Pruitt's Sunday School Class. She was a devoted wife, mother, Nana, sister and aunt.  She loved spending time with family and friends, playing checkers and bingo, and eating out with her friends from church and Sunday School.  She was always ready for a good time.  She never met a stranger and was always willing to help and pray for anyone in need.  She adored her grandchildren, Tate and Talley; they were her world.

Family members include her son, Matt Turpin (Julie) of Eastanollee; grandchildren, Tate Turpin and Talley Turpin; sister, Carol Eakins (Randy); brother, Phillip Carpenter; sister-in-law, Wanda Carpenter; nephews, Scott Carpenter, Corey Carpenter (Kim), Josh Carpenter (Amy), Jared Eakins (Helen), Jonathon "Jon" Carpenter and Joseph "Joe" Carpenter (Megan); and niece, Stephanie Cleveland (David).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Dan Nathaniel Turpin and a brother, Mike Carpenter.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 9am until the service time Friday, September 12, 2025.

Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary at eleven o'clock Friday, September 12, 2025 with Dr. Jamie Smith and Dr. Fred Lodge officiating.

Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers:  Tate Turpin, Scott Carpenter, Corey Carpenter, Jarrod Eakins, Emmitt Carpenter and Phillip Carpenter.  Becky Pruitt's Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers.
