It is with a sad and lonely heart we announce the passing of James Carrol Cantrell, age 72, of Toccoa.  He was a born again Christian of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Beverly Cantrell; daughter, Kimberly (Jay) Gibson; step-daughter, Brandi (Keith) Thomas; step-son, Jeremy (Brandie) Bramlett; grandchildren, Hollie, Braden, Isaac, Kaegan, Kenzie, Alyssa, Derrick, Bailey, Parker, Dalton, Taylor, Dylan, Taylor, Catlynne, Claire and Chloie; one great-grandchild, Kash Thomas; sisters, Rhonda Isbell, Marice (Steve) Bentley and Debbie (Dennis) Brawner; and brother, Mark (Rita) Cantrell.

He was preceded in death by his son, Joshua; brother, Alan; and his mom and dad, Dorothy Murray Cantrell and George James Cantrell.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 2pm until the service hour on Thursday, January 23, 2025.

A memorial service will be held from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary at 4 o'clock Thursday, January 23, 2025 with the Rev. Mike Petty and the Rev. Jewell Gaines officiating. Please dress casual in blue jeans, his favorite, and cowboy boots.
