Mrs. Bonnie Kay Seeley Mayes, age 78, of Toccoa, passed away Sunday, October 16, 2022.

Born July 26, 1944 in Paris, IL, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Zella Fae Quillen      Seeley Arnold.  She was a member of the Lavonia Church of Christ and was a homemaker.

Family members include her sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas Allen Mayes and Geraldine of Turnerville, GA, Richard Earl Mayes of Toccoa, and Andy Cage Mayes and Tonya of Toccoa; daughters and sons-in-law, Dr. Leora Kay Chitwood and Ernie of Alto, GA and Elizabeth Fae Mayes of Toccoa; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Faye Seeley, John and Vicki Arnold, and Tony and Kaye Looney; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Melbiurn Thomas Mayes; father, Earl Seeley; brothers, Brad Seeley, Merlin Seeley, and Melvin L. Arnold.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 2-4pm and 6-8pm Sunday, October 23, 2022.

Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Monday, October 24, 2022 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Joshua Allen Mayes, Mr. Mitchell Starling, and the Rev. David Sosebee officiating.

Burial will follow at Roselane Cemetery.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Kacey Mayes, Kris Mayes, Tyler Pulliam,

Zachery Pulliam, Jamie Mayes, Jack Mayes, Jason Chitwood, and Drew Arnold.

Larry Seely and John Arnold will serve as honorary pallbearers.
