Mrs. Betty Lou Cox Garner, age 84, of Toccoa, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Born October 6, 1937 in Toccoa, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Ola Mae Cheek Cox Sloan.

She was a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church and was retired from Coats and Clark.

Family members include her son, Richard Garner and Paige Franklin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ray and Virginia Cox of Dahlonega and Marvin and Annette Sloan of Loganville; brother-in-law, Enlow Garland of Villa Rica; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Glenn Anderson Garner.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 12 noon until 2pm Wednesday, July 27, 2022.

Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Ken Jackson officiating.

Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Dennis Thomason, Allen Whitlock, Eddie Turner, and Harlan Martin.

Flowers are optional. Those desiring may make memorials to Rock Creek Baptist Church.
