Mr. Benny Morris Brown, age 82, of Toccoa, passed away Saturday, September 30, 2023, at his home.

Born July 4, 1941 in Franklin County, Ga, he was a son of the late Vincent and Laura Jordan Brown.

Benny retired from Coats and Clark as a machine technician, and also had worked in other professions during his life including road work, logging, and as a painter.  Benny was a member of Rock Creek Baptist Church.

Family members include a son, Ricky Morris Brown of Bogart, GA; a daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Tom Pekarik of Rockwall, TX; his grandchildren, Connor Henson, Madison Henson, Makenzie Henson, Jessie Brown, Jordan Brown, and Charlotte Brown; and a great-grandchildren, Dean Henson and Rose Williams; sister and brother-in-law, Mildred and Steve Surprak; sister-in-law, Beverly Brown; several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, including Jack Shelton, who was his caretaker.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Priscilla Shelton Brown in 2021; his daughter-in-law, Cassie Brown; and several brothers and sisters.

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 12noon until the service hour on Monday, October 2, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Monday, October 2, 2023 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Roger Elrod officiating.

Burial will follow in Rock Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Connor Henson, Tom Pekarik, Jessie Brown, Jordan Brown, Kaden Canady, and Tim Canady.
