Mrs. Barbara Ann Smith, age 84, of Toccoa passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024 at her home.
Born April 30, 1939 in Stephens County, she was the daughter of the late Morris W. and Bernice Poole Smith Singleton.
Mrs. Smith was a member of Tates Creek Baptist Church and retired from Coats & Clark after around 40 years. She loved to cook, sew, crochet and garden. She had a green thumb and loved all flowers. She loved antiquing and yard-selling. She helped at the local auctions and was a volunteer at the bread ministry.
Family members include her daughter, Billie Curbow; son, Jacob Smith (Tammy) and his children; granddaughter, April White (James); great-grandchildren, Tyler White, Nathan White and Aerionna White; great-great-grandchild, Kayden White; special caregiver, Chantal Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Myron H. Smith; son-in-law, Hugh Curbow; sisters, Peggy Smith Looney (Elmer) and Nora Smith McIntyre (Vernon); and brother, Henry Smith.
The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Tuesday, February 20, 2024.
Funeral services will be held at four o'clock Wednesday, February 21, 2024, from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Tommy Childress and the Rev. Jerrell Beatty officiating.
Burial will follow at Roselane Cemetery.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Gary Norris, Nathan White, Tyler White, Phil Gruber, Brian Harris and Bruce Harris. David Gruber will serve as honorary pallbearer.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the American Lung Association at www.lung.org.
