Andrew N. White (Andy), age 90, of Jefferson Georgia went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus on Wednesday, October 19, 2023.

Andy was born on December 18, 1932 in Brooklyn New York. He was the son of Scottish immigrants, James and Janet White. He was married to Margaret Pedersen on Aug. 29, 1953.

Andy joined the Navy when he was 18 and served during the Korean War on the USS Tidewater (AD 31) as a metalsmith in the Mediterranean Sea based out of Naples, Italy. He left the Navy in 1956 and worked for the New York Telephone Company until his retirement.  He was a member of the American Legion in Toccoa, GA and Jefferson, GA.

Andy (or as his grandchildren called him, 'Pop Pop') was always willing to help others, particularly with his home repair and carpentry skills.  He served others as a faithful and humble friend.  His favorite verse was 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 "and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody," along with Deuteronomy 29:29, "The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law."

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara who passed away at the age of 7 in 1964. Andy is survived by his wife of 70 years, Margaret and brother David (wife Barbara) White..  His children: Douglas White (wife Christina) of Toccoa, GA, Debbie Patterson (husband Thomas) of Jefferson, GA, and Donna Wolderich (husband Keith) of Bismark, ND. Andy (Pop Pop) has 9 grandchildren Ian White (wife Elise), Seth White (wife Samantha), Nissa White, Andrew Patterson, Emma Ringold (husband Will), Anna Patterson, Josh Wolderich (wife Heidi), Desiree Wolderich and Nasia Wolderich, along with 8 great-grandchildren: Addie, Brayden, Hudson, Declan, Ivyanna, Izabella, Alice and Ezekiel.

Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with Rev. Andy Childs officiating.

Burial will follow at Roselane Cemetery
