Obituary

Nellie Grace Knight, 90, wife of deceased Rev. Frank Knight, of Seneca, SC, made her entry to her heavenly home on Monday, October 5, 2026 at Belvedere Commons Assisted Living, Seneca.

A native of Pickens County, SC, Nellie was the daughter of the late Norton and Pearl (Durham) Stephens of Six Mile. SC. Nellie served alongside her late husband in pastoring the Coneross Church of God for nearly fifty years in faithful ministry. She also worked for Nason in West Union until her retirement. She had a servant’s heart: kind and generous, especially to the less fortunate. In addition to her piano and singing skills, she loved to cook and bless her family and others. She was well-known for her coconut cake and banana pudding!

Nellie is survived by her sons: Danny (Wanda) of West Union, Steve (Wanda) of Easley, and Gary (Tina) of Toccoa, GA; six grandchildren: Bradley (Holly), Stephanie, Chris (Jennifer), Stacy Black (Kory), Jordan Yearwood (Keaton), and Kaitlan Prince (Dawson); and ten great-grandchildren: Ava, Greta, Harper, James, Jolie, Emma, Bowman Knight, Brady, Maddox, and Lincoln Black. She also had a special friend – her hairdresser for fifty-four years- Trudy Allen of Walhalla.

In addition to her parents, Nellie was predeceased by sisters: Lila Galloway, Alma Chastain, Flora Durham; and brother: Paul Stephens. She loved the many nieces and nephews from the above families!

A visitation will be held from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Friday, October 9, 2026, at Davenport Funeral Home in Walhalla, SC.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Gap Hill Church of God in Six Mile, SC, with a private burial to follow.

The family wishes to give special thanks to Danny and Wanda in their excellent care for mom over the recent months of difficulty! The family is also grateful to the staff at Belvedere Commons and Pruitt Hospice for their care for mom!

Flowers are accepted.  The family is at their respective homes.
