Ms. Betty Louise LeCroy Collins, age 86, of Toccoa, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at her home.

Born February 28, 1940 in Franklin County, GA, she was the daughter of the late Willie Coleman and Clara Mae Brown LeCroy.

Louise was a devoted and loving mother.  When her boys were growing up, she always supported them in their activities, and she was like a second mother to many of their friends.  They would gather at Louise's house to hang out.  She enjoyed providing a welcoming environment and would bake and cook for them.  For years Louise kept children in her home, always giving them the same love that she gave her own family.

Central to Louise's life was her Christian faith.   She was a dedicated member of New Hope Baptist Church for many years, then later joined Broad River Baptist Church.  She was always found singing alto in the choir, as well as serving as Sunday School teacher and participating in various other ministries.  Her love of music was shared with her three sons, and they performed as a family singing group at different churches to share their love of the Lord.  Louise's Christian beliefs and community involvement remained strong throughout her lifetime and inspired her sons, who have and continue to serve in their own church and community roles.

Louise was part of the New Hope - Currahee Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary, and she was a Salvation Army Volunteer.  She made handmade items annually for Christmas Shoe Box Ministries, as well as quilts, afghans, and decorations for family and friends.  She loved to cook, sew, crochet, scrapbook, and make jewelry and other crafts.  But, no doubt, her greatest joy of all was spending time with her family.

Family members include her sons, Barry Collins (Kim) of Gray, GA, Brian Collins (Lenalisa) of Clarkesville, GA, and Bradley Collins (Elizabeth), of Toccoa; grandchildren, Joshua Collins, Breanna Squires (Steven), Nathan Collins (Destinee), Kiara Jenkins, Ricky Collins and Alexis Collins; great-grandson, Elijah Squires; sisters-in-law, Gwen LeCroy, Joyce Collins and Vera Robinson; former husband, Alfred Collins (Mary Lou); life-long friend, Robbie Nations; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul LeCroy, Thomas LeCroy (Gladys), Talmadge LeCroy (Margaret) and Jimmy LeCroy; sisters, Eula Mae McFarlin (Eb), Gladys Crump (Quinby) and Tommie McCollum; and brothers-in-law, Rev. Paul Collins (Reba), Arnold Collins (Frances), Marvin Collins (Ann), Thomas Collins and R. C. Robinson.

The family will receive friends at Whitlock Mortuary from 10:00 am until 12 noon Saturday, March 28, 2026.
