Mrs. Kathy Lynn Payne Dooley, age 61, of Toccoa, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Born October 6, 1951, she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Sara Eloise Smith Payne. She was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church and was retired from the Social Security Administration. Kathy enjoyed cooking southern fare for her family, attending Red Hat functions and visiting Toccoa Falls. She loved shopping and traveling with her family and spending time with her granddaughters. Family members include her husband, Jack Dooley; daughters, Susan Justice and Joy Dooley-Harrell and her fiancé, Jamie Sorrells; son, Jay Dooley; granddaughters, Erica Dooley, Kaitlyn Harrell, Haley Harrell, McKenna Dooley, Lindsey Sorrells, and Keeley Sorrells; sisters and brothers-in-law, Deborah and Don Jameson and Martha and Phil Albertson; brother, Dale Payne; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Friday, June 14, 2013 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with Dr. Roy Rogers, Rev. Bill Evans and the Rev. John Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Blake Albertson, Bryan Dooley, Rodney Burdette, Daniel Thomas, Brian Page, Doug Moore, Chad Waters, and Jamie Sorrells. The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 2 pm - 4 pm and 6 pm - 8 pm Thursday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Sunnyside Baptist Church or the American Diabetes Association. Whitlock Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
