Mr. Gerald Albert Klein, age 91, of Lavonia, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2026 at his home.

Born August 28, 1935 in Ludington, MI, he was the son of the late Albert and Linda Kauffman Klein.

He was a self-employed Commercial Real Estate Developer, and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was also a United States Army Veteran.

Family members include his wife, Dorothy Ostrander Klein, of Lavonia; daughters, Susan K. Bruce and Nancy Lanois (Tony); son, Steven Klein (Sherri); grandchildren, Jacqueline Brewer (Adam), Matthew Bruce, Cody Bruce (Makayla), Doug Lanois (Carolyn), Christopher Lanois (Kendall), Trina Brown (Richard), Daniel Lanois, Richard Allen Lanois (Kayley), Matthew Klein (Bailey), Kayleigh Evans (Justin), Jonathan Klein (Madison), Emily Ventre (Daniel), Abigail Brown, Taylor Brown and Chris Brown (Madison); twenty-seven great-grandchildren; and many amazing nieces and nephews who brought so much joy to his life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Robert Bruce, and his grandson, Nicholas Lanois.

The family will receive friends at Trinity Lutheran Church from 12pm until the service hour Saturday, October 3, 2026.

Funeral services will be held at one o’clock Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Roger Schwartz officiating.

Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens.

The following grandchildren will serve as pallbearers: Christopher Lanois, Doug Lanois, Daniel Lanois, Allen Lanois, Matthew Bruce, Cody Bruce, Matthew Klein and Jonathan Klein.
