Mrs. Azalee Wood McMurry, age 97, of Toccoa, passed away Tuesday, February 24, 2026 at her home.

Born May 31, 1928 in Toccoa, she was a daughter of the late Willie Pink and Clara James Wood.

Azalee was retired from Robertson Furniture Manufacturing, Inc. as an office assistant. During her life, she also worked for Snyder Brothers and Toccoa Concrete.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church Toccoa and enjoyed cooking.  Coconut cakes were her specialty.

Family members include her sons and daughter-in-law, Phillip McMurry of Rougemont, NC and Bill and Gail McMurry of Durham, NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph William McMurry.

Azalee's wishes were to be cremated.  No services are planned at this time.
