
Martha Terrell
1923 ~ 2010
Mrs. Martha Smith Terrell, age 87, of Toccoa, widow of Charles Terrell, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010, at Stephens County Hospital.
Born February 12, 1923 in Franklin County, she was a daughter of the late Luther Howard and Rilla Grace Williams Smith.
She was a member of Zebulon Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Terrell graduated from the University of Tennessee and worked as a Registered Nurse for a number of years.
Family members include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Luther “Luke” and Brenda Terrell, and David Emory Terrell, all of Toccoa; a grandson, Patrick Terrell and Jolene Yearwood of Toccoa; a granddaughter, Ashley Terrell of Toccoa; a sister, Clara S. Hambleton of Toccoa; a brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Anne Smith of Whitsett, NC; two half sisters, Grace Purdy, and her husband, Loy, of Toccoa and Dorothy Ann Bolmon, and her husband, Hubert, of Royston; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Vera Lindley and Melba Williams.
Funeral services will be held at two o’clock Friday, March 12, 2010 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with Rev. Roger Loggins and Mr. R. D. "Bulldog" Smith officiating.
Entombment will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens.
Gentlemen serving as pallbearers will be Gene Poole, Ted Johnson, Rod Fernando, Lannie Crane, Lloyd Owens, and Rex Anderson.
The family will be at their respective homes and will receive friends at the mortuary from 6pm - 8pm Thursday evening.

care-givers, Sarah and Lloyd Owens, the Clary Care Center, Dr. Marc Coan,
Dr. Greg Varnadore, and the medical staff of Stephens County Hospital, for their special care dedicated service.

Mary Lee Harbert Whitlock
1934 ~ 2010
Mary Lee Harbert Whitlock, age 76, of Fallow Field Drive, Toccoa, GA, passed away at peace in her sleep, at home, Thursday, March 11, 2010.
The oldest child of the late Henry Garland Harbert and Carrie Deal Harbert, she was born January 18, 1934 in Stephens County where she lived all of her life. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Arthur Harbert, granddaughter Stacey Hardman, father and mother-in-law Sloan and Beuna Whitlock, sister-in-law Janice Whitlock McCollum, brothers-in-law Dillard McAvoy, Albert Cobb, Henry York and Charles Pruitt.
Survivors include John Phillip Whitlock of the home, their daughters and sons-in-law Phyllis and David Wilburn, Eddy and Cathy Hardman, Amy and Kenny Caudell, and son Dennis Whitlock; grandchildren Richard Garner and Sharon, Brandon Hardman, Seth Burns, Megan Burns, and Jason Whitlock; great-grandchildren O’Ryan Garner, Colby Garner, Brandt Hardman, Samuel (Sam) Hardman, Benjamin (Ben) Hardman, Dalton Whitlock, Chloe Whitlock and Nevaeh Whitlock. She is also survived by three sisters, Agnes Woods and her husband Woody, Barbara Pruitt, and Gail Cobb all of Toccoa; two brothers Welton Harbert of South Carolina and Julian Dan Harbert of Milledgeville, GA; sister-in-law Jenna Charles of Toccoa, brother and sister-in-law Dale and Myrtle Whitlock of Powhatan, VA; an uncle, aunts, cousins, and several nieces and nephews.
She was a very loving wife, mother, “Nana”, and sister. A wonderful friend to those whom she talked with several times a week and often times daily. She took great joy in her friends and family; loving her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as only a “Nana” can.
She loved the Lord and often times shared with her family and friends how much she looked forward to the day she would be reunited with her loved ones in heaven. She will forever be in the hearts of the ones she has left behind; her family, special friends and caregivers Mark York and Hank York and their parents Bob and Pat, Jerrell Beatty and Clarence Davis who are and have always been considered a part of the Whitlock family. She taught her children to take pride in themselves, to be modest and conservative, to love each other and care for each other just as she loved and cared for her brothers and sisters. She instilled in her children the bond of family and the love of God.
She was a very modest person and her wishes will be honored by her family during this time. She wanted people to remember her as they last saw her or spoke with her. A private service will be held for Mary Lee Harbert Whitlock.

Evelyn Francis
1925 ~ 2010
Mrs. Evelyn Francis, 85, of Toccoa, wife of Donald R. Francis, died Sunday, March 14, 2010 at Stephens County Hospital.
Born September 28, 1925 in Jenkins, KY, she was a daughter of the late George and Icey Grier Mullins.
She was of the Baptist Faith and was a member of the Ole Country Church. Mrs. Francis was very proud when she was a teacher for the Cherokee Indians.
Family members include her husband of the home; eight sisters; three brothers; and several nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service will be held at her home with the Rev. Delbert McCall officiating.

Anthony Jay Bueck
1951 ~ 2010
Mr. Anthony Jay Bucek, age 58, of Clarkesville, GA, died Thursday, February 18, 2010, at his home following an extended illness.
Born in Pittsburgh, PA on December 5, 1951, he was a son of Katherine McKown Bucek and the late Anthony Julius Bucek.
Mr. Bucek, a potter, was the owner of Mark of the Potter in Clarkesville, where he lived for more than 20 years. He was a member of Northeast Georgia Mountain Travel Association where he received the 1987 Golden Peach Award from the N.E. Georgia Travel Association, 1989-1991 Served as Advertising Chairman, 1991 Top of the Mountain Award-Co-op Advertising, 1994 Board of Directors award for outstanding service. He was a member of Habersham County Chamber of Commerce where he received the 1990 Community Enhancement Award and 1996 Industry Award. He was a member of Georgia Hospitality Travel Associations where he received the Travel Industry Leader of the year award in 1995. He received the 1996 Best Brochure Award from the Association of Professional Brochure Distributors and the 1999 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Georgia Department of Industry, Trade & Tourism.
Survivors include his wife, Janis Morgan Bucek of the home; his mother, Kitty Bucek of Florida; Stepfather, Alvin Silverman of Florida, a step-son, Chad Peck and his wife Mayte Peck of Atlanta; a sister, Sharon Bryant of Cornelia; a brother, Kenneth Bucek of Florida; step-granddaughter, Victoria Peck; step-brothers, Randy Silverman of Utah, Bobby Silverman of North Carolina, Ricky Silverman of Oregon; step-sister, Ronnie Smekal of California; and 5 nieces (1 niece of late), 2 nephews and 1 grand niece.
A memorial service will be held at three o’clock Monday, March 22, 2010 at Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Foundations.
